| Loans for U.S. Students Studying Abroad | International student loans are for those U.S. students who are: • Enrolled full time at a college or university abroad and work toward degree abroad, • Studying aboard for a short time and wanting to earn a degree from a U.S. institution.
Federal Stafford loans Federal Stafford loans are for both graduate and undergraduate students. They are the most widespread source of education loan funds. You are eligible for a Stafford student loan if you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident; a full- or half-time graduate or undergraduate student; and attending an eligible school. A credit check is not required.
Federal Parent PLUS loans Parent PLUS loan is a low interest education loan for parents of undergraduate, dependent students. This loan is federally sponsored. Having a Parent PLUS loan, a parent can finance the entire cost of a child's education (less student financial aid). You are eligible for a PLUS if you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and the parent of a full-time or half-time undergraduate dependent student attending an eligible school
Federal Graduate PLUS loans If you want to get a Federal Graduate PLUS loan, you have to be graduate or professional student. You are eligible for Federal Graduate PLUS loans if you are a U.S. citizen or non-citizen permanent residents and you are enrolled an eligible institution at least half-time.
